Splash Page Background Video

Using a Background Video allows you to create a modern, immersive, and premium splash page that captures attention and keeps your guests visually engaged while reinforcing your brand message.
You will transform your splash page into a dynamic and visually stunning experience for your guests.
Prerequisites: You must already be in edit mode with your splash page. (See Finding and Editing Your Splash Page.)
What It Looks Like on a Splash Page
A Background Video is a short, looping video that plays automatically behind your main splash page content (logo, headline, call-to-action buttons, etc.).
It usually features subtle, high-quality footage such as lifestyle scenes, product demonstrations, or branded animations. The video is muted and loops seamlessly, with foreground elements staying fixed and clearly readable on top.
How a Background Video Benefits You as a Marketing Tool
- Delivers a highly premium and immersive first impression that makes your splash page feel more dynamic and modern.
- Captivates guests’ attention more effectively than static images.
- Allows you to tell a richer story or showcase your brand personality through motion.
- Provides valuable visual space to reinforce your message.
- Creates an emotional connection and enhances perceived brand quality.
Important Caveats
Background videos can significantly increase page load times and data usage, especially on mobile. Poorly optimized videos may distract from your main call-to-action.
Best practices:
- Keep videos short (10–30 seconds) and lightweight.
- Always mute the video and enable looping. (Fydelia automatically mutes background videos.)
- Ensure strong contrast between the video and your text/buttons.
- Test performance on both desktop and mobile.
In the context of the Multi-Step Marketing widget, the Background Video (along with Image Slider, Background Slider, and Interstitial Video) gives you flexible, visually rich ways to make your splash page more engaging and promotional without needing complex custom code.
Loading Your Background Video
1. The first thing you need to do is to make sure your video is in your Medial Library to get the video URL. Hover over your logo until you see the blue context menu and click Edit. Once the configuration panel appears on the left side of the screen, click Choose in the Image box.

IMPORTANT: Do not use a video URL from another website domain as this may cause issues with the splash page loading. If you do need to use an external video, be sure to add those domains to your Walled Garden Settings on your network.
If you hover over the Page Setting cogwheel the context menu for Page Settings will appear. Move your mouse away and hover just below it.

4. Scroll down in the configuration panel until you see Background Video. Paste the URL you copied from the Media Library here and then click Save Changes.

Depending on your browser, your page may now appear unresponsive. Refreshing your browser page will resolve this.
