How to Find Your Brevo CRM API Key for Integrations

Why You Need a Brevo API Key

An API key acts as a secure password that allows third-party applications, plugins, and marketing tools to communicate with your Brevo account. By connecting these systems, you can automatically sync contacts, manage subscriber lists, and automate your marketing workflows.

Warning: Treat your API keys like passwords. Never share them publicly or display them in unsecured areas. If an API key is compromised, delete it immediately and generate a new one.

How to Generate a New Brevo API Key

Follow these steps to locate and generate your API key within your Brevo dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Brevo account.

  2. Click your account dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Select SMTP & API from the dropdown menu.

  4. Ensure you are on the API Keys tab.

  1. Click the Generate a new API key button.

  2. In the prompt, enter a descriptive Name for your API key (for example, "WiFi Marketing Integration") so you can easily identify it later.

  1. Set an expiration date for the key, or choose to have no expiration.

  2. Click Generate.

  3. Copy your API key immediately from the screen.

How to Deactivate or Delete an API Key

If you no longer use an integration or need to temporarily pause a connection, you can manage your keys directly from the same dashboard:

  1. Navigate to your account menu in the top-right corner and select SMTP & API.

  2. Locate the specific API key you want to manage.

  3. To temporarily pause the connection, click Deactivate API key.

  4. To permanently remove the connection, click Delete API key.

Warning: Deleting an API key is permanent and cannot be undone. Any active integrations using a deleted key will stop working immediately.
